Sara Whitehurst, MSSW is an Arkansas native who has lived in Memphis for over 15 years. She received her Masters Degree in Social Work at the University of Memphis as well as her undergraduate degree in Social Work. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Sara’s professional experience include postpartum depression, anxiety, infertility, grief and substance abuse.
Sara prefers a holistic approach to therapy, focusing not only on the mind but on the total person. She first starts treating the presenting problem and symptoms to help her client’s find stability and relief. Afterwards, she whole-heartedly believes in addressing the roots that the symptoms are stemming from. Sara believes if we don’t view and heal the root issues, one may struggle with the same problems over again in the future.
Sara has a passion for helping individuals discover or recover emotional freedom and live the joyous life they were designed to live regardless of their circumstances. Sara has a strong belief in this approach to therapy due to her own personal life experiences.
